The Boyer College of Music and Dance presents its 15th Annual Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Concert. The three-time Grammy nominated Temple University Symphony Orchestra is renowned for its performance of both traditional symphonies and modern masterpieces. Under the direction of Andreas Delfs, it will perform Suite from Spartacus by Aram Khachaturian and, in the second half, Carl Orff'sCarmina Burana alongside Temple University's esteemed Combined Choirs. The evening will also include the presentation of the 2016 Boyer College Tribute Award to this year's honoree, Larry Magid. Past recipients of the Boyer Tribute Award include Eric Owens, Carole Haas Gravagno, Kenneth Gamble, The Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Alan Abel, Vera Wilson, Bill McGlaughlin, Al and Gabrielle Rinaldi, Charles Dutoit, the Theodore Presser Foundation, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Michael Greene, Luis Biava, Janet Yamron and Sonya Garfinkle.
