“PEANUTS” COMIC STRIP AND 1965 TELEVISION SPECIAL,

SHOWCASING THE ICONIC MUSIC SCORE OF VINCE GUARALDI

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, November 6, 2019) – Just in time for the holiday season, everyone’s favorite Peanuts television special comes to life on stage at the Kimmel Center’s Merriam Theater on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21, 2019. A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage! celebrates the timeless television classic as the whole family joins Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the Peanuts characters in their journey to uncover the true meaning of Christmas.

 

“We are delighted to celebrate the holiday season with a beloved Charlie Brown classic and familiar characters,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “This show is part of our ongoing Family Discovery Series, a collection of family-friendly programs intended to introduce younger audiences to the joy, excitement, and magic of live theater.”

 

Peanuts is among the most popular and influential brands in the world, and Schulz’s Emmy®- and Peabody Award-winning story has been a longstanding tradition, warming the hearts of millions of fans since it first aired on television over 50 years ago. Now, the live stage adaptation of the classic animated television special brings all your favorite characters to life – all set to the original special’s dialogue, as well as the unforgettable sounds of the classic Vince Guaraldi musical score.

 

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage! encompasses each of your favorite scenes from the original animated television show, with more fun, more music, and more finding the true Christmas spirit. Inclusion is also a big theme. After the final bow, the show crescendos into a musical celebration as the audience is invited to join the Peanuts gang in singing traditional Christmas songs and carols.

 

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage! is part of the Family Discovery Series, sponsored by Santander.

 

As part of the Family Discovery Series, A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage is eligible for 3-show packages starting at just $16.50 per show. Other shows in the series include: Baby Shark Live!
