FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, September 9, 2019) – Following global sold-out tours, the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus, in association with AEG, welcomes comedy queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race champion Bianca Del Rio for her brand-new comedy show It’s Jester Joke on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Perelman Theater. The self-proclaimed “clown in a gown” tells tales of her worldwide adventures and the outrageous circus that is her life in her comical “tell it like it is” voice, covering life from politics to travel, family, and social media.

“Since her unprecedented win on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Bianca Del Rio has risen to superstar status,” said Ed Cambron, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “The iconic drag queen’s vivacious energy captures the attention of millions across many platforms. We are delighted to bring her history-making tour to Philadelphia and our Kimmel Center Cultural Campus, where we present groundbreaking comedy and celebrate diversity all year long.”

Bianca’s brand new It’s Jester Joke tour will span the continent this fall, bringing her irreverent, side-splitting comedy to over 40 cities, including the first-ever drag queen performance at NYC’s legendary Carnegie Hall, in what will be the biggest ever solo drag show tour in North America.

Bianca Del Rio is the season six winner of the hit TV series RuPaul’s Drag Race. The beloved entertainer once known as Roy Haylock emerged on the New Orleans nightclub circuit and has since become a drag superstar, earning awards – including NewNowNext’s Best New Television Personality – performing sold-out shows around the world, gaining critical acclaim from The New York Times, penning a book – Blame it on Bianca Del Rio – and amassing over 1.7M followers on Instagram.

From her home base in Los Angeles, Bianca Del Rio continues to tour the world, captivating fans with her sharp wit, dismembering humor, and perceptive commentary in a brash, metro kick to the ego —everything and everyone is her target. Don’t miss your chance to see Bianca Del Rio in her fiercely funny new show in 2019.

Other featured upcoming performances at the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus include: Randy Rainbow Live! (September 21, 2019, Merriam Theater), The Office! A Musical Parody (September 28 – 29, 2019, Merriam Theater), Cristela Alonzo: My Affordable Care Act (October 10, 2019, Academy of Music), and Dena Blizzard: One Funny Mother (October 19, 2019, Perelman Theater).
