THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS
WELCOMES BACK MISS D AND HER DANCING DOLLS
IN A HOTTER-THAN-EVER PERFORMANCE OF
BRING IT! LIVE AT THE MERRIAM THEATER
JULY 11, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, June 13, 2019) – After three acclaimed touring seasons, the hit Lifetime TV series Bring it! is back onstage with never-before-seen routines and all new fan vs. Dancing Doll stand battles in Bring It! Live on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Kimmel Center’s Merriam Theater.

Featuring the legendary Coach Dianna Williams and her team of Dancing Dolls, the unforgettable, jam-packed 2019 summer tour will bring an all-new interactive show with hotter-than-ever performances in an evening packed with motivation, inspiration and formation.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Dianna Williams and her Dancing Dolls to our Cultural Campus for a fourth consecutive year as they bring brand new choreography and unparalleled energy to Philadelphia,” said Ed Cambron, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “The live, interactive performance is entertaining and inspirational, encouraging a new generation of dancers to pursue their passion through hard work and determination.”

Dianna Williams, known as “Miss D” to fans and students, is a dancer, mentor, and choreographer, who rose to fame following the premiere of Bring it! in 2014. Williams began dancing at age 4 and has training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Belly Dance, and Tap. Following her college graduation, she dedicated her life to pursuing dance, participating in various competitions before establishing her own hip-hop dance troupe - Miss D’s Dancing Dolls. In 2010, Williams opened the Dollhouse Dance Factory, which soon became the home of Miss D’s Dancing Dolls.

Miss D’s Dancing Dolls is one of the top dance troupes in the country – having earned more than 100 trophies and 15 grand champion titles. The success of Miss D’s Dancing Dolls inspired Lifetime to create the television show Bring it!, featuring Miss D’s Dancing Dolls as they compete in hip-hop majorette competitions, with a main focus on stand battles, a competitive dance routine where two teams face off through alternate dance routines, called by the captain of the opposing team.

Although known for her ability to push her dolls to extreme to bring out the best in them, Miss D not only teaches her girls about dance, she teaches them about the importance of a good education, persistence, and positive self-worth.

Other featured upcoming performances at Kimmel Center Cultural Campus include: Rennie Harris: Funkedified (June 7-8, 2019, Merriam Theater), Hannah Gadsby: Douglas (June 23, 2019, Merriam Theater), and Smart Funny & Black with Amanda Seales (July 21, 2019, Merriam Theater).
