FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, February 28, 2019) – The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is thrilled to welcome Italy’s awe-inspiring NoGravity Dance Company to perform their groundbreaking aerial dance and acrobatics show, From Hell to Paradise,in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 8:00 p.m.Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy and the wonders of Baroque theatre, the show features gravity-defying dancers and extraordinary effects.

 

“NoGravity Dance Company’s innovative artistry, led by director and founder Emiliano Pellisari, is incredibly powerful to witness,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “In From Hell to Paradise, the company masterfully utilizes dance to craft a performance that is a perfect blend of magic, illusion, and aerial art.”

 

NoGravity Dance Company blends various art forms to produce a unique look, combining Baroque & Renaissance movements with aerial dance. In addition to the company’s distinctive style of movement & illusions, the show features a non-stop parade of effects and beautiful live music on the Kimmel Center’s Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ to provide an unparalleled immersive experience. The music will be performed by organist Alan Morrison, The Haas Charitable Trust Chair in Organ Studies for The Curtis Institute of Music.
