TO THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS FOR

JERRY BLAVAT AND FRIENDS 40TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, November 15, 2018) – Philadelphia’s iconic radio DJ, Jerry Blavat, returns to Verizon Hall on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. for his annual variety show.  This year celebrates Jerry’s 40th show on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus and will feature Philadelphia soul group The Stylistics, Sonny Turner and The Platters, Brenda Holloway, Kim Weston, The Miracles (with a tribute to Smokey Robinson), and more. The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts partners with Blavat every season for an exciting variety show featuring special guests and beloved tunes. As per tradition for his appearances, attendees are invited to the Commonwealth Plaza for cocktails and dancing before and after the performance.

 

“Jerry Blavat has curated 40 energetic and enthusiastic performances on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus, taking audiences on a trip down memory lane with beloved musical groups from years past,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “Jerry’s endless rolodex of friends keeps this annual event fresh and fun for the whole family, and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store for Philadelphia with this monumental anniversary show!”

 

Other featured upcoming performances at the Kimmel Center Campus include: Beautiful – The Carole King Musical (January 8 – 20, 2019, Academy of Music); Sing Hallelujah (February 20, 2019, Verizon Hall); and The Philly POPS’ American Bandstand: A Philadelphia Story (May 3 – 5, 2019, Verizon Hall).
