FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, February 11, 2020) – The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus presents the high-energy live production of the hit culinary TV show, MasterChef Junior,at the Merriam Theater on March 11, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. The immersive competition features head-to-head cooking demonstrations and fun (sometimes messy!) challenges with past MasterChef Junior contestants, including a lineup of winners and fan-favorites, including: Season 7 winner, Che; Season 7 Finalist, Malia; Season 7’s Matthew; and Season 6’s Avery.

 

The mini master chefs display their skills on stage through a set of challenges that test their innovation, technique, and creativity. Challenges include mystery box, surprise shout out instructions from past contestants, and more. Foodies and fans of all ages will be on the edge of their seats as the young chefs demonstrate their skills in the kitchen that proves age doesn't matter when it comes to cooking!

 

“We are excited to present the Philadelphia premiere of MasterChef Junior Live! on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus as a part of our ongoing Family Discovery Series,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “As a non-profit, our mission is to engage the region’s diverse communities with art through performance and education, reaching the next generation of Philadelphians with a variety of art forms, including the culinary arts. Who knows what this next generation of pint-sized chefs will inspire?”

 

MasterChef Junior has garnered 12 award nominations throughout its run, including a Primetime Emmy® Award nomination in 2017. The show will return for its eighth season in March on FOX, featuring chefs Gordon Ramsay and Aarón Sánchez, as well as nutrition expert, author, and new judge, Daphne Oz.

 

MasterChef Junior Live! is a part of the Family Discovery Series, sponsored by Santander. As a part of the Family Discovery Series, MasterChef Junior Live! is eligible for 3-show packages starting at just $10 per show.
