NATHAN LAUBE EXHIBITS VIRTUOSIC TALENT

FOR ONE-NIGHT-ONLY

ON THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS

MARCH 31, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, January 31, 2019) – The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts welcomes world-renowned concert organist Nathan Laube to perform on the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ in Verizon Hall on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Laube, a graduate of Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music, has quickly earned a place among the organ world’s elite performers.

“Nathan Laube’s talent on the organ is unparalleled,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “We are always thrilled to witness artists with local roots flourish, and we greatly look forward to seeing Nathan Laube’s astounding artistry come to life on our beloved ‘King of Instruments’, the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ.”

Laube’s repertoire expertly blends compositions spanning five centuries with his own breathtaking transcriptions of orchestral works. His brilliant playing and gracious demeanor have thrilled audiences and presenters both across the United States and throughout Europe. The Tracker raves, “Nathan Laube, once a ‘rising star,’ is now an international star, and his consummate musicianship is justifiably celebrated worldwide.”

As an organist, Laube has played in countless performances, festivals, and conventions. The recording of his performance of the Stephen Paulus Grand Concerto recorded with the Nashville Symphony, Giancarlo Guerrero, conducting, received a Grammy® Award for Best Classical Compendium. Laube is also the Assistant Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY.
