KIMMEL CENTER HOSTS 14TH ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S DAY CELEBRATION WITH FREE FAMILY FUN ALL DAY, JANUARY 1, 2019, 10AM–5PM
BEST VIEWS OF THE MUMMER’S PARADE, FREE HOT CHOCOLATE BAR, FAMILY-ORIENTED ENTERTAINMENT, BRUNCH BY GARCES EVENTS, TICKET GIVEAWAYS, PRIZES & MORE!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, December 15, 2018) –– The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Philadelphia to the 14th annual FREE New Year’s Day Celebration. The inside of the Kimmel Center will be alive with daylong performances on the Commonwealth Plaza stage, as all are invited to enjoy birds’ eye views of the Mummers Parade, giveaways, hot chocolate, and family-friendly activities from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
“There’s no better place in Philadelphia to welcome a new year than at the Kimmel Center,” said Anne Ewers, President & CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “This is one of our favorite events, when the community comes to visit us, celebrating the start of another year together. Make your mark on our Resolution Wall, sip a mug of free hot chocolate, and enjoy performances programmed for the entire family.”

This year’s celebration will include:
– The Kimmel Center’s Resolution Wall, where guests are invited to write 2019 New Year’s resolutions
– A Garces Events FREE hot chocolate lounge with add-on toppings
– Broadway Philadelphia’s The Lightning Thief – The Percy Jackson Musical themed activities, including: trident scavenger hunt and themed “Poseidon’s Poison” cocktail at the Commonwealth Plaza Encore Bar
– Family-friendly fun including face painting, roaming jugglers, hula hooping by J-Hoop, balloon art, ticket giveaways, a “prize” wheel, and more!
Garces Events will host its one-of-a-kind “Broad Street Bash” brunch on the Tier 2 balcony. Guests can enjoy unlimited food and drink from 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., while taking some of the best views of the Mummers Parade in the city. Garces will offer a cash bar beginning at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.kimmelculturalcampus.org.
