PEG + CAT LIVE! BRINGS THE EMMY® AWARD-WINNING
PBS KIDS SHOW TO LIFE WITH AN
IMAGINATIVE MUSICAL STAGE ADAPTATION
ON THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS
 MARCH 30, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, January 31, 2019) – The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is delighted to welcome the fun, kid-friendly musical Peg + Cat Live! to its Merriam Theater on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Created by Peg + Catco-creators Billy Aronson and Jennifer Oxley, this hilarious stage adaption of the Emmy award-winning PBS Kids show features wild comedy, countless favorite songs, large puppets, and Peg and Cat’s signature problem-solving methods.

When Peg’s mom asks Peg and Cat to mail some really important letters, they come face to face with a really big problem – a really big dog! To solve it, they’ll need math—bar graphs, size comparison, position words, fair sharing, and a whole lot of counting. They’ll also need to count on each other, Peg’s super cool friend Ramone, and the audience to solve their problem!

“Our Family Discovery Series is specifically designed to provide arts access to our youngest guests,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “The charming and educational elements for which this PBS show is celebrated translate seamlessly to the stage in this musical adaptation. Children of all ages will love learning in such an entertaining environment!”

The renowned television show has received many accolades, inclusive of six Daytime Emmy® awards, including Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Program and Outstanding Writing & Music - Preschool Animated Program.

As part of the Kimmel Center’s Family Discovery Series, Peg + Cat Live! is eligible for 3-show packages starting at just $10 per show. Other shows in the series include KODO: Evolution (March 12, 2019, Verizon Hall), Paw Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue (April 5-7, 2019, Academy of Music), The Illusionists – Live From Broadway (May 10-11, 2019, Merriam Theater), and Rennie Harris: Funkedified (June 7-8, 2019, Merriam Theater).
