PHILADELPHIA, PA – December, 2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the beloved Christmas carol “Silent Night.” This special occasion will be celebrated with a community performance of a new arrangement of the song by Philadelphia composer John Conahan. On Monday, December 17th from 7 to 8 PM, singers from diverse ensembles all across the Greater Philadelphia Region will come together for the SILENT NIGHT SING-IN, a performance in the Commonwealth Plaza of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Conahan will coordinate a brief rehearsal with all participating singers at 7 PM and then conduct the premiere of this new work accenting the bicentennial.

WRTI 90.1 FM Classical Host Gregg Whiteside will join the event by introducing the performance and sharing some thoughts on this significant melody.
