Middle School Summer Arts Sessions 

What
Middle School Summer Arts Sessions is a FREE introductory level performing arts experience, focused on Music, Dance, Theater, and Digital Arts. This program will offer rising 5th graders through rising 8th graders instruction, hands-on activities, and performance experiences facilitated by professional teaching artists and experienced performers.

While there is no audition requirement, students must fill out a registration form that includes a personal statement on why they want to attend camp. To bring together a diverse group of youth from all areas of Philadelphia, participants will be selected at random through a lottery to fill 48 available spots.

Who
Rising 5th-8th grade Philadelphia area students

When       • June 24th – July 3rd (ONLY WEEKDAYS – no program on June 29 & 30)       • 9:30am – 4:00pm (Students may arrive starting at 8:45am and latest pick-up is 4:30pm)       • The final day of program, July 3rd, culminates with a student showcase in the early evening, open to families       • Students are expected to attend all days of program, on time, for the full day       • Registration deadline is April 1stApplicants will be notified of acceptance status by April 15th

High School Summer Arts Sessions

What
High School Summer Arts Sessions is a FREE, 3-week, intermediate – advanced level performing arts experience, focused on Singing, Acting, and Dancing. This program will offer rising 9th through rising 12th graders instruction on all three specialty areas with the option to have a focus track in either Singing/Acting or Dance. This experience includes:       • Skill building classes in specialty areas and focus areas       • Masterclasses       • Audition preparation       • Rehearsal and culminating performance in a Musical Theater productionAcceptance to camp will be audition-based.Who
Rising 9th-12th grade Philadelphia area students with experience in singing, acting, and/or dancing.When       • July 8th – July 26th (weekdays only)       • 9:30am – 5:00pm (Students may arrive starting at 8:45am and latest pick-up is 5:30pm)       • Final performance will take place July 26th, 6:30pm       • Students are expected to attend all days of program, on time, for the full day.       • Registration deadline is April 15th. In-person audition dates take place March 9th and March 16th. If you choose an in-person audition, you will be notified of your audition time and details.Audition requirements:       • For those auditioning for the Singing/Acting track, submit the following:             • A 36-measure segment of a musical theater song that represents your vocal type.             • A personal statement on why you want to attend camp             • Either a dance excerpt between 30 seconds to one-minute in length OR a short acting monologue       • For those auditioning for the dance track, submit the following:             • A dance excerpt between 30 seconds to one-minute in length             • A personal statement on why you want to attend camp             • Either a 36-measure segment of a musical theater song that represents your vocal type OR a short acting monologue
