BY POPULAR DEMAND 16-YEAR-OLD PIANO PRODIGY ETHAN BORTNICK RETURNS TO KIMMEL CENTER’S PERELMAN THEATER TO PERFORM CLASSIC COVERS AND ORIGINAL WORKS, MARCH 17, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, January 24, 2017) –– After wowing Philadelphia audiences last season, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Sun and Sky Entertainment, welcomes back 16-year-old piano prodigy and philanthropist Ethan Bortnick to the Perelman Theater on Friday, March 17 at 8:00 p.m. Recognized by Guinness World Records as “The World’s Youngest Solo Musician to Headline His Own Concert Tour,” Ethan embarked upon his musical career at an early age, writing his own compositions by age 5, and has raised more than $40 million for charity. Joining Ethan for this performance will be his band, a children’s choir, local guest artists, and more.

“What Ethan has accomplished at such a young age is nothing short of remarkable. And still to remain so grounded as to give back – that is truly special,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “After such a well-received engagement last season, we are thrilled to have Ethan return to delight audiences with his music and charming personality yet again!”

Ethan’s eclectic performance will feature covers of renowned artists from The Beatles to Elton John to Broadway, from Chopin to Neil Diamond, from Michael Jackson to Motown, and everything in between.  Ethan will also perform several original songs, including a few from the recently released movie Anything is Possible, in which he starred, co-scored, and wrote 10 songs. A concert like no other, Ethan will involve the audience in the show, compose music on the spot, put together songs instantaneously using audience stories/ideas, and conduct a Q&A segment.

A driven humanitarian as well as a musical prodigy, Ethan has been performing around the world, raising money for charities across the globe. His belief that music has a higher purpose and an ability to encourage people that they can ultimately change the world has quickly made him one of the most captivating young artists of our time.  In addition to his immense musical talent and philanthropy, Ethan’s highly successful nationally televised show The Power of Music was one of the most successful concert pledge shows on PBS for 2014 and is still running nationwide, continuously winning multiple awards. Additionally, he has been featured on countless national television shows, including multiple appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, and Oprah
