Ensemble Arts Philly

What is Ensemble Arts Philly?

The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Cultural Campus is introducing the Ensemble Arts Philly brand name to improve clarity to the audience experience, across our physical spaces and online. This new brand represents a wide variety of genres including Broadway, comedy, theater, jazz, dance, and family presentations across our three venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater. Also, Ensemble Arts Philly will represent the multi-genre audience engagement and educational activity that happens outside of our venues.

This new name and accompanying URL will ensure guests arrive at the correct venue, that ticket purchases are made through our official channels, and will finally enable guests to purchase multiple genres in one transaction – including The Philadelphia Orchestra and Broadway.

The venues—the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater—will retain their existing names.

The exceptional customer service of Ticket Philadelphia will continue as Ensemble Arts Philly Audience Services.

From the return of Hamilton in 2024, to the premiere of the newly produced blockbuster MJ The Musical in 2025, over the coming months, Ensemble Arts Philly will unveil bold and innovative new performances and partnerships and will share history-making announcements that recognize our past and transform the region’s future.

More than our three iconic buildings, Ensemble Arts Philly brings our great city together and brings talented artists together with experiences as diverse as our region, sharing the transformative power of the performing arts with Philadelphia and the world.

Is the Kimmel Cultural Campus name changing to Ensemble Arts Philly?

All of the programing audiences know, and love will be represented under this new brand- from the best on Broadway to the greatest touring stand-up comedians and jazz greats.

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will remain the name of the building that is home to Verizon Hall, Perelman Theater, Innovation Studio, Commonwealth Plaza, Hamilton Garden, and our restaurant Volvér.

Why Ensemble Arts Philly?

The word “ensemble” is an inspiration representing a performing group, a band, a cast of actors, a corps of dancers or a chorus- this new brand name is both venue and artist-agnostic because it represents a multitude of experiences. This comprehensive name also rises above a single destination name to put art and the people who make it at the center.

How does Ensemble Arts Philly impact me as an audience member/donor?

This change will improve clarity across the whole audience experience, ensuring guests arrive at the correct venue and that ticket purchases are made through official channels. Guests will not experience disruption to planned events in our three buildings; this new brand will just be a new presenting brand, so guests may see this new name on the Playbill or in advertisements.

To purchase tickets or donate, the public will go to our new URL which is EnsembleArtsPhilly.org. There they will find information about all upcoming performances and events and how to donate.

Should guests still use KimmelCulturalCampus.org, they will be routed to the same website to purchase tickets or make online donations.

I’ve seen Ensemble Arts and Ensemble Arts Philly? Is there a difference?

Both iterations (Ensemble Arts and Ensemble Arts Philly) represent the new brand name and will be used interchangeably depending on the need to establish location. For example, to eliminate redundancy, the word “Philly” will not be included in the brand name when “Philadelphia” is used in the title, artist, or resident company presenter.

What programming is presented in Ensemble Arts Philly?

This new brand represents a wide variety of genres including Broadway, comedy, theater, jazz, dance, speaker, and family presentations across our three venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater. As well, Ensemble Arts Philly will represent the multi-genre audience engagement and educational activity that happens outside of our venues.

Where will I purchase tickets?

EnsembleArtsPhilly.org is our new web URL where you will find your favorite performances and events across our three venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater. You can also purchase tickets in person at our Box Office at all three locations or by calling Ensemble Arts Philly Audiences Services at (215) 893-1999. Visit www.EnsembleArtsPhilly.org/plan-yourvisit-box-office to check box office hours and locations. All visitors to the old website will be redirected to the new web page.

How is Ticket Philadelphia impacted?

Ticket Philadelphia, our ticketing service, will become the ticketing and audience services department of Ensemble Arts Philly, continuing its exceptional customer service under the new name.

What is the mission of Ensemble Arts Philly?

Ensemble Arts Philly’s mission is the same mission as the organization’s: We share the transformative power of the performing arts and arts education with the widest possible audience, inspiring and connecting humanity with exceptional performances and experiences serving Philadelphia and the world. We value authenticity, collaboration, a commitment to exceptional experiences, and inclusivity, and we do so within the framework of fiscal responsibility and IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Strategies).

What does this change mean for The Philadelphia Orchestra?

The Philadelphia Orchestra name and GRAMMY Award–winning sound will not change, and this 125-year-old brand will not be changed. This new presenting brand will only represent other signature presentations like Broadway, jazz, comedy, and family.

What does this change mean for the Resident Companies and renters of the venues?

Our relationship with the esteemed Resident Companies and renters that present events at our venues will not change.

New Logo: The new name mark/logo is comprised of seven distinct shapes, symbolic of the seven musical notes on a scale and was inspired by the concept of bringing many things together to share one experience: The people of our community, the artists on our stages, and our three iconic buildings that are home to 2,000 events annually. These shapes are brought together in a whimsical and symbolic way to make one word that represents the whole.

New Brand Colors: The multitude of new colors speak to the variety and richness in the arts inspired by the feeling evoked in a live concert, the emotion of a theatrical show, the movement from a dancer, and the laugh shared by an audience.

Our core values of authenticity, collaboration, and inclusivity, along with our legacy of presenting exceptional art experiences is at the heart of our work.
