WORLD FAMOUS SHANGHAI ACROBATS PERFORM JAW-DROPPING STUNTS IN BRAND NEW SHOW SHANGHAI NIGHTS, OCTOBER 30, 2016
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, August 25, 2016) –– One of the most influential and competitive acrobatic companies in China brings their beautiful, thrilling experience directly from Shanghai to Verizon Hall on Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. Through jaw-dropping acts of acrobatics, impeccably timed stunts, and beautiful costumes, Shanghai Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China merge the hustle and bustle of contemporary Shanghai with China’s rich cultural heritage in their brand new show, Shanghai Nights. Each performer will bring stories to life through the beauty of movement, music, and color.
“We are thrilled to present this brand new show that will bring Shanghai to life right inside our theater!” said Ed Cambron, Executive Vice President of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “This breathtaking show features more than one hundred acrobats blending death-defying stunts with story in what will surely be an exciting night for all.”
Since its founding in 1959, the company has won many awards in both acrobatic and circus competitions in China and abroad. The show features various well-known acrobatic acts including Two Persons Climbing the Pole, Leather Belt, Bottles and Branches, Silkworms Spin Silk, Balancing on the Ball, and many more.
