The Chamber Orchestra brings 2016 to a close with a performance masterfully balancing the new and the old as only Maestro Dirk Brossé and The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia can.  The concert opens with two beloved masterworks.  The effervescent Rossini Overture to L’Italiana in Algeri and the inspiring Gounod Symphony No. 1.   The second half of the concert features two new works, each sure to please.  The world premiere of Raphael Fusco’s Alternate Routes; a work arranged specifically for the musicians of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.  Last but not least, the American premiere of Rami Khalife’s Stories for Piano and Orchestra with the composer at the keys.  Khalife describes his composition as “charged with emotion, each track captures a moment in time. They carry my vision for music: free from any constraints, borders or restrictions.”
