Overview

Co-Produced with Mural Arts Philadelphia, in partnership with Streets Department and Young Involved Philadelphia

Join us for a panel and discussion on March 21 featuring artists and advocates who have been active participants in the current political climate. Artists Olek, Michelle Angela Ortiz, and Liza Goodell from Spiral Q will share their thoughts and experiences on how art plays a role in protest. Panel will be moderated by Drexel professor Julie Hawkins and the event will be co-hosted by Conrad Benner of Streets Department and Young Involved Philadelphia. (Cash bar on site. Seating is limited, tickets are required.)

In partnership with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Mural Arts Program presents The Art of the Protest — a program including a public panel and 3 sign-making workshops encouraging people to harness their creative freedom of expression to make powerful statements that ignite social change through support of local, national, and global causes. This series challenges people and artists to delve deeper into how art can activate a movement.

This event will be held in Hamilton Garden at The Kimmel Center. Cash bar on site. Seating is limited to 150 so be sure to secure your tickets in advance.
