OBIE AWARD-WINNING THEATER TEAM 600 HIGHWAYMAN BRINGS PROFOUND THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE THE FEVER TO THE KIMMEL CENTER’S PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS JUNE 6-10, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, April 30, 2018) –– New York-based Obie Award-winning creative team 600 HIGHWAYMEN will perform eight performances of their brilliant interactive work of art, The Fever, at the Kimmel Center’s SEI Innovation Studio from June 6-10, 2018. Performed in intimate collaboration with the audience, The Fever examines how we assemble, organize, and care for the bodies around us, testing the limits of individual and collective responsibility. This programming is presented as part of the Kimmel Center’s 2018 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA).

“This year’s PIFA showcases a rebirth of interactive experiential art,” said Ed Cambron, Executive Vice President of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “The Fever is a reflective and poetic exploration of human connection to both art and humanity.”

This daring show gifts audiences with the chance to fulfill a common purpose of examining human connection and existence, through a communal assembly with both the artist and one another. 600 HIGHWAYMEN is the name for theater artists Abigail Browde and Michael Silverstone. Together, 600 HIGHWAYMANN has created eight original works since 2009, performing at many national and international venues. In 2014 they received an Obie (Off-Broadway) Award and a Zurich’s SKB Patronage Prize in 2015. In 2016, Browde and Silverstone were named artist fellows by the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Other featured upcoming performances at the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus include: Cristal Palace (June 1-10, 2018, Schuylkill Banks), Water on Mars (June 1-3, 2018, Perelman Theater), Taylor Mac: A 24-Decade History of Popular Music Part I (June 2, 2018, Merriam Theater), Tape Riot (June 5-8, 2018, Location revealed only to ticket buyers), Taylor Mac: A 24-Decade History of Popular Music Part I (June 9, 2018, Merriam Theater), and Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE!  (June 23, 2018, Perelman Theater).
