Kimmel Center Cares - The holidays are a time of giving and we have the best ways for you to get involved!
1. After the chaos of Black Friday and deals of Cyber Monday, there’s #GivingTuesday
On Tuesday, November 29th, join the movement! This year on the Global Day of Giving, when you donate to the Kimmel Center you not only support free education programs for infants through high schoolers, but through the generous matching program of the Cardy Family, your gift goes so much further!
From resources for our children to helping us reach broad and diverse audiences every day, your gift will reach those in need this holiday season.
2. Cradles to Crayons is back with opportunities to give all holiday season!
Stopping by the Kimmel Center Campus? Help kids in need #GearUpForWinter with our campus-wide winter clothing and toy drive benefiting Cradles to Crayons! The drive runs Tuesday, November 29th thru Saturday, December 31st, with drop-off boxes at the Kimmel Center, Academy of Music, and Merriam Theater. All donations are distributed to infants through 12-year-olds through social services organizations.
3. DROP THOSE TURKEYS!
The Kimmel Center is hosting the largest one-day food gathering event in Philadelphia, and you can help! Join us and our partners at 102.9 WMGK and Giant Food Stores as the Kimmel Center serves as a collection location for The Annual John DeBella Turkey Drop. Come by on Tuesday, November 22nd from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. to donate frozen turkeys for families in need. Full information here!
4. The Chamber Orchestra partners with Philabundance
Our friends at our Resident Company, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, have announced a new partnership with Philabundance, the region’s largest food bank. During each Sunday Chamber Orchestra concert throughout the 2016/17 season, patrons can bring non-perishable food to donate. Learn more here!
5. To ensure nobody is cold this winter…
Our partners at Ticket Philadelphia are serving as a collection hub for the 3rd Annual Emmanuel Winter Clothing Drive, assisting the homeless and food-insecure in Center City. Donations include cold weather gear and travel size toiletry items. All items must be delivered to 230 South Broad Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19102 by Friday, December 16th, to ensure distribution by Christmas Eve.
