Our Kimmel Center Latin dance party playlist

Posted by:  Lauren on October 10, 2017

In case you missed it, La NOCHE, the Kimmel Center’s new Latin dance party, kicked off last month. If you haven’t joined us for dancing, drinks, and food yet on a Monday night, you’re missing out!

I’ve attended the last two dance parties and wanted to create a top playlist of danceable Latin hits to share. Feel free to move along with me (even if you’re listening at your desk during work) and access the playlist here!

1. Selena’s “No Me Queda Más”

Yes, this one is sad for anyone and everyone who’s ever had a broken heart, but I needed it on the list.

2. Carlos Santana’s “Evil Ways”

This song launched legendary artist Santana into stardom. Try to not groove to it…

3. Jennifer Lopez’s “If you had my love”

This fiery Latin favorite is an icon for her dance moves and “If you had my love” happens to be Lopez’s first single.

4. Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” ft Wyclef

How can you not dance to this pop song sensation?! “Hips Don’t Lie” was a worldwide smash hit in 2006… and it’s still a hit in my book.

5. Marc Anthony’s “Vivir Mi Vida”

A crowd-pleasing, Latin dance party wrapped up in a neat 4 minute package.

6. Selena’s “Amor Prophicado”

Yes, Selena made the list twice. I’m not sorry.“Amor Prophicado” translates to “Forbidden Love,” and the song is an ode to star-crossed lovers.

7. Ricky Martin’s “Maria”

Martin performed this at the Billboard Music Awards in 2000. Guaranteed to get your hips swaying. He’s not bad on the eyes, either.

8. Julio Iglesias’ “A veces tu, a veces yo”

In the mood for romance? Iglesias’ “A veces tu, a veces yo” translates to “Sometimes you, sometimes I” and has all the makings of a classic love song.

9. Gloria Estefan’s “Coming out of the dark”

This one gives me all the feels. Try to keep it together and sway to this beauty with someone you love.

 10. Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba”

Classic. That’s all I can say.
