Back-to-School looks different in 2020, and Kimmel’s free educational programs have gone virtual to meet the needs of students - and teachers - today.

We are committed to continue to inspire students across the region with our FREE educational offerings, just in a different format.

While we cannot currently be a place for gathering, we’re dedicated to remaining a resource to you and your students. We believe that the arts build strong communities and remain committed to our education initiatives. In that spirit, we have begun creating a series of educational videos, featuring our talented teaching artists, for students looking for a creative outlet at home.

Merck Arts Education Center

The Merck Arts Education Center (MAEC) provides arts education through a variety of learning styles and innovative technologies. Serving as a flexible arts resource for the Philadelphia community, MAEC promotes appreciation of the performing arts through diverse programming for children and adults.

Housed at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, MAEC fosters collaborations with its Resident Companies and cultural communities and acts as a bridge to developing future audiences and performers. Support for the Merck Arts Education Center is generously provided by Merck.
