NETFLIX AND COMEDY CENTRAL STAR HANNIBAL BURESS MAKES HIS MERRIAM THEATER DEBUT ON THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS MAY 19, 2018

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, March 19, 2018) –– Wildly popular comedian, writer, and adored actor Hannibal Buress comes to the Kimmel Center’s Merriam Theater on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. Buress is a critic and fan favorite on the big and small screens, and is praised by The New York Times as one of the most “supremely gifted and respected’ comics around after his first national stand-up tour sold out.

 

“Hannibal Buress has charmed audiences since emerging onto the comedy scene in 2009 on Saturday Night Live,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “His quirky personality shines through everything he does, from comedy specials to animated movies. The Kimmel Center is thrilled to have him perform on our Campus.”

 

Emerging as a true comedy superstar, his talents are spread across an array of entertainment platforms. His third hour stand-up special Comedy Camisado is currently streaming on Netflix. He is a current cast member on Comedy Central’s hit series Broad City, as well as a longtime co-host of Adult Swim’s The Eric Andrew Show. On the big screen, he recently appeared in the comedy feature Daddy’s Home alongside Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg, wrapped up Baywatch and Spider-Man: Homecoming, and has lent his voice to the animated films The Secret Life of Pets and Angry Birds.
