 Kimmel Center Wedding Open House

Saturday, February 23 at 12 PM in Hamilton Rooftop Garden

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, February 14, 2019) –– The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is pleased to announce that the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts venue has been selected as a 2019 winner of The Knot Best of Weddings awards, an accolade representing the highest- and most-rated wedding professionals as reviewed by real couples, their families, and wedding guests on The Knot, a leading wedding planning brand and app. This is the second time the Kimmel Center has been named a pick of The Knot Best of Weddings, following an acknowledgement in 2017. The news comes as the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus gears up to host another Wedding Open House on Saturday, February 23 from 12PM – 2PM in its Hamilton Garden rooftop space. Staff will be present to discuss Kimmel Center Cultural Campus venues, catering, and more.

“The Kimmel Center is absolutely tickled to be named to The Knot’s Best of Weddings list for a second time alongside our partners at Garces Events,” said Anne Ewers, President & CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “We relish the opportunity to transform lives daily through the arts every day, through dance, theater, music, and more; however, memory-making is at the heart of what we do on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus. Couples, with their families and friends in tow, entrust us with one of the most important days of their lives – and there is nothing better than to give them a wedding worthy of a standing ovation!”

“It’s a pleasure to partner with the Kimmel Center and provide guests an excellent experience through our full-service Garces Events division offering Latin-inspired hospitality in a customizable and unique space for any occasion,” said Chef Jose Garces.

As the Philadelphia region’s most impactful performing arts center, the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is home to more than 9,000 seats per night and encompasses the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Merriam Theater. As a space for memory-making and hosting events, the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus boasts multiple spaces in which to host a rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception, including the rooftop Hamilton Garden; the elegant & historic Academy of Music Ballroom; the architecturally-stunning Commonwealth Plaza; and the versatile Perelman Theater. Paired with a focused team of Kimmel Center and Garces Events staff, engaged couples are guided through the process of choosing a location, considering the menu, and more.

In 2019, only four percent of hundreds of thousands of local wedding professionals listed on The Knot received this distinguished award. In its 13th annual year, The Knot continues its longstanding tradition of supporting local wedding vendors with The Knot Best of Weddings 2019, an annual by-couples, for-couples guide to the top wedding professionals across the country. To determine the winners, The Knot analyzed its millions of user reviews across various vendor categories, including venues, musicians, florists, photographers, caterers, and more, to find the best and most rated vendors of the year. These winners represent the best of the best wedding professionals that a couple should consider booking for their own unique wedding.
